Best robot mops for keeping floors clean and shiny in 2026
Struggle to keep on top of regular floor cleaning? Let a robot do it for you and banish the good old mop and bucket for good. We've tried and tested the best robot mops to add to your home.
By Gemma Wilcock | Last updated Aug 19, 2025
When you have children or pets (or both) at home, it’s almost impossible to keep your floors clean, even with the very best vacuum cleaner and best carpet cleaner to hand. But if you invest in a robot mop, you could come home to sparkling floors every day without having to lift a finger.
Similar to robot vacuum cleaners, which save you from having to get your regular vacuum cleaner out for every spillage, robot mops will do all the hard work for you every time your floors get dirty. All you need to do is make sure the water tank is full. The mop will then get to work using pre-programmed patterns and an integrated mop cloth to tackle dirt in various areas of your home.
Some robot mops have been designed to do both mopping and vacuuming, with other handy features include mapping technology, sensors for navigating around carpets and furniture, voice control and phone activation. But which models are the best?
We've scoured the Mumsnet forums to see which robot mops families rate and which ones aren't worth investing in. Whether you’ve got a small flat or a large house, here are the best robot mops to suit your needs.
To help you keep on top of household chores, we've also got handy guides to the best steam cleaners, the best floor mops, the best carpet cleaners, the best Dyson vacuum cleaners, the best Shark vacuum cleaners, all featuring reviews and recommendations from Mumsnet users.

Price: £1,199 | Type: Vacuum cleaner and mop | Suction: 5,500 Pa | Auto bin emptying: Yes | Water capacity: 3l
What Mumsnet users say
The Roborock S7 Max is the ultimate robot cleaner, managing to successfully hoover your floors and scrub them clean in next to no time. The wiper vibrates up to 3,000 times per minute to remove even dried-on stains. And while some hybrid machines can leave carpets and rugs soaking, one of the mop’s big selling points is that it automatically lifts the mop head when it’s not on hard floors so you won’t come home to find all your carpets wet.
With an impressive suction power of 5,500 Pa (short for pascal), the vacuum works hard to remove dust and dirt from your floor, with laser distance sensors for mapping out your home and setting no-go zones. You can schedule cleaning and change settings using voice control or through the handy mobile app.
The 3l water tank can clean up to 200 square metres in one session and the battery runs for up to three hours. The S7 Max also comes with an Auto Empty Dock, so you won't have to dispose of any dust or dirt yourself for up to six weeks. We love this extra labour-saving device, which is why the Roborok S7 Max is our top robot mop.

Price: £154 | Type: Vacuum cleaner and mop | Suction: 1,600 Pa | Auto bin emptying: No | Water capacity: 300ml
What Mumsnet users say
The Venga! Robot Vacuum Cleaner does the job for an affordable price. With a suction power of 1,600 Pa, it's not nearly as powerful as the Roborock S7 Max, but it's good enough for everyday cleaning - plus it's roughly a 10th of the price. Two side brushes and a large central brush sweep up dust and dirt from the ground, climbing up to 1.8cm over carpets and rugs.
It’s simple to use, with a one-touch function that sets it on an automatic cleaning cycle. There are six cleaning modes to choose from which can be easily selected using the device’s remote control. Sensors detect furniture, the edges of walls and stairs to prevent any collisions, and the battery can run for up to two hours (or an hour when on maximum suction) before the mop needs to head back to its dock to charge. You won’t get a deep clean like you will with the S7Max though, so you may still need to get the mop and bucket out every now and then.

Some users found it gets stuck moving over different flooring

Some people had issues with the mapping

What Mumsnet users say
If you don’t want to keep checking the bin on your hybrid mop, ECOVACS has designed the DEEBOT N8+ which has a bin that doesn’t need to be emptied for over four weeks. The N8+’s auto-emptying station has a bag that can hold up to 2.5 litres of dust, dirt and hair, so you can leave it to do its thing with minimal fuss (you will need to manually attach the mop pad though).
The mop can be easily controlled by the ECOVACS Home App, with laser technology and sensors that allow you to map out your home. It’s also compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa so you send it to clean using your voice. The N8+ has been designed to detect and avoid carpet when mopping, but some reviewers have found that it can get stuck around certain objects such as cables and rugs.

Thanks to its twin turbine technology, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid will quickly suck up dog and cat hair and wipe the floors clean so you don’t have to get the mop and bucket out after every dog walk. The 2-in-1 vacuum and mop can be scheduled to clean your floors, using laser navigation to map out your rooms. You can set multi-floor maps so your little robot helper knows where to clean and where to avoid. There are basic functions on the top of the Eufy RoboVac or you can use the app and voice control to change settings.
The 250ml water tank allows the mop to work for up to 140 minutes, although some reviewers have found that the mop is quite basic, with a washable cloth that wipes the floor rather than scrub it. As such, we’d recommend the Eufy for everyday maintenance rather than for tackling deep-set stains.
Best robot mop for hardwood floors
Focuses on mopping
Good for hard floor cleaning
Good navigation system
Four cleaning methods
Precision jet spray

What Mumsnet users say
The iRobot Braava Jet m6 is the only robot mop on our list that doesn’t vacuum. It sweeps your floors of any dirt, but it’s focus is very much on scrubbing them. Because the m6 focuses on mopping, it has lots to offer when it comes to cleaning. There are four settings to choose from - all you need to do is attach the appropriate cleaning pad and the m6 automatically knows what to do. The mop sprays water to loosen dirt, even in tricky corners and all around the edges, while making sure to avoid surrounding furniture, rugs and walls.
It also suggests an extra mop of your home if the pollen count is high or your pet has been shedding more than normal. The m6 won’t go over carpet though, so it’s probably better suited for homes with lots of hard flooring. It’s expensive too, but there’s lots of great features to help keep your floors gleaming that we think it’s worth the outlay.
Best robot mop for regular cleaning
Designed for hard floors
Change settings via the app
Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
Self-charging battery
Users claim the mop offers more of a wipe down than a deep clean
Bin isn’t self-emptying
Battery life isn’t great

What Mumsnet users say
For everyday maintenance, the Eufy Robovac G10 Hybrid has been specially designed to keep hard floors clean. The mop uses smart navigation technology to move around your home, sweeping and mopping to remove everyday dirt and mess. However, while other robot mops scrub the floor, the G10 only wipes, so don’t get rid of your mop and bucket just yet.
When it comes to hoovering, the two suction settings have been designed for hard floors, with a maximum suction power of 2,000 Pa, however it should be able to remove light crumbs from rugs and carpets. The battery is self-charging, but the maximum running time of 100 minutes is on the low side.
Best vacuum and mop hybrid
Self-cleaning mops
Controlled by an easy-to-use app
Also a powerful vacuum cleaner
Excellent object detection
Large docking station
Pretty pricey

Tested by MNHQ: Read our in-depth eufy X9 Pro review
The eufy X9 Pro robotic vacuum and mop has a super powerful 5,500 Pa suction and AI.See™ smart obstacle avoidance, to detect and dodge obstacles with ease. As well as being a powerful vacuum cleaner, the X9 Pro mops hard floors effectively and even hot-foots it back to base to clean and dry its own mops once the task is complete.
On the downside, the base unit is rather heavy and large (which isn’t surprising as there are two water tanks inside) and the bin isn’t self-emptying. If you are new to the world of robot mops, then you may want to consider a cheaper model to get you started. But if you are ready to go all-in with hands-free hoovering and mopping, then the eufy X9 Pro certainly ticks all the boxes.

Plagued by pet hair and muddy footprints on your floors? Fear not, the Lefant M213 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is here. This robot vacuum-mop-hybrid offers four cleaning modes - automatic, planning, fixed point, and edge - to ensure no speck of dirt goes undetected. It's thin enough to squeeze under low-lying furniture, can detect stairs to avoid any nasty little falls and the Lefant boasts an impressive 500ml dust collection bucket.
Unlike other robot mops on our list, the Lefant doesn't have a water tank. Instead it comes with a dry cloth and a disposable wet cloth, which can be cleaned and replaced if necessary. Just be aware this is extra labour and expense that you can avoid with other robot mops on our list. But you may feel this is worth the trade off for the low price.
Is a robot mop any good?
For everyday cleaning, a robot mop will do a good job of keeping your floors clean. It can be a really useful household device if you’re busy and don’t have time to regularly get your mop and bucket out.
Similar to robot vacuum cleaners, which shouldn’t completely replace a regular vacuum cleaner, a robot mop is best for maintaining a clean floor or mopping up everyday dirt and spills. You’ll likely still need to give your floors a good clean from time to time, especially to get rid of any deep-set stains.
How to choose the best robot mop
Price
You'll struggle to find a robot mop under £100 so this is an investment. Decent robot mops start from around £150 and increase to £600+.
Hybrid
Lots of the robot mops on the market are also vacuum cleaners. This is really handy if you want a machine that will give your floors a good clean every day.
Power
Check the suction power to see how well the robot mop will suck up the dirt and dust - generally they range from around 1,600 to 3,000 Pa. The higher the pascal rating, the better the mop’s suction power.
Bin size
Look at the bin capacity to see how much dirt and dust the mop can hold as this will determine how often it needs emptying. Some hybrids are self-emptying so you won’t need to worry about checking the bin as often.
Battery life
Check how long the battery lasts for and how long it takes to charge - this will be important if you have a large space to clean. For uninterrupted cleaning, look out for mops that head straight back to the dock when they need to recharge.
Water tank
The size of your water tank will determine how much mopping can be done without your intervention. Also look out for different water flows which can cater to different flooring and cleaning methods.
Mopping efficiency
The most basic robot mops will wipe the floor with a cloth, which is fine for everyday spills and dirt but won’t give you a deep-clean. Other machines may scrub or offer a choice of settings for different levels of cleaning.
Extra features
Robot mops with sensors and lasers are really handy for mapping your home and setting no-go zones. Look out for a mop with object detection technology so that it avoids furniture and detects carpet.
Robot mops with app controls will make it easy to change settings and schedule cleaning. Some mops are also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can set them to clean using voice control.
What's the best robot mop to buy?
We think the Roborock S7 Max is the best all-round robot mop. With an impressive suction power, it hoovers up dust and dirt and then scrubs the floor using a wiper that vibrates up to 3,000 times per minute.
The S7Max automatically lifts the mop head when it’s not on hard floors so it doesn’t leave carpets or rugs wet. You can set no-go zones and schedule cleaning, and it can all be easily controlled through voice control or an app on your phone.
