Best strapless bras

Strapless bras are one of those underwear staples that are notoriously troublesome to buy. The lack of straps may work for certain outfits but it can also mean less support.

To compensate for no straps, some bras have painful ribbing that can dig into your side or adhesive sticking that can tear at your skin. Whether you have a large bust or a small bust, finding a trusted strapless bra often feels impossible.

But here at Mumsnet, we're fortunate to have an incredible forum of users who recommend everyday items, offering their honest and impartial feedback. Because who better to turn to for advice on everyday items than the real women who buy them? So, we’ve scoured our Talk boards and online reviews to bring you our definitive list of the best strapless bras of 2026.

If you’re in need of other wardrobe essentials, don’t miss our guides to the best shapewear and best tights. And if you have a holiday booked, our guide to the best swimsuits might be helpful, too!

So many of our users, both big busted and small, praised this bra for its ability to stay secure and in place no matter what.

Inside the bra cups, there’s a distinctive hand print support that will push up your cleavage and give fantastic support.

The one downside with this bra is the price point. It’s expensive but considering the glowing reviews, it’s certainly worth it.

The gel-padded hook also provides comfort and the bra comes with detachable straps if you want to have that option. The seam free design of the cups also guarantees a discreet look under your clothing.

What we like

  • Innovative design for backless and strapless

What we don't like

Our verdict

You may have thought finding a strapless and backless bra with support was an impossible task but Invisibra have nailed it.

The adhesive on the inside of the cups will keep the bra secure but is comfortable and won’t rip or tear on your skin. After use, you can wash the cups to wear again. It’s hand wash only, which is a little annoying, but worth it for the clever design.

Invisibra also has a handy sizing guide to help you find a perfect fit and there’s a great choice of colours and styles.

“I like the Matalan multiway bra (with straps removed). I have it on now and I'm a 32G!” - Brand recommended by imjessie

Our verdict

It’s hard to argue with the price point of this bra, especially as it comes with straps and can be worn in eight different ways. Customers say the material is smooth and soft and one of our users even claimed it was a good fit for larger busts.

The only negative is some reviews claim the boning can dig in after a few hours of wear. So it may be worth trying the size up.

What Mumsnet users say

“I'm a Skims convert! The bandeau bras are amazing in replacement for droopy strapless bras” - Product recommended by TheVeryHungryTortoise

Our verdict

Kim Kardashian’s Skims range may be expensive but it’s highly-rated for being great quality and like a second skin in terms of  comfort levels. The bandeau bra claims to fit everybody and its stretchy design is ideal for moulding to the contours of your body. The soft material feels comfortable against the skin too.

Plus, there’s a good shade choice and great sizing options. The price is hard to get past for one bandeau but considering the rave reviews, this may be the only one you need.

Our verdict

This soft bandeau is perfect for larger busts as the seamless design is discreet under clothing but the stretchy fabric offers a surprisingly good amount of support.

It comes with removable pads so you can decide if you want an extra boost or not. The size range is good but customers have noted that it can differ, with some saying it runs small and some saying it runs large. So it might be worth ordering a variety to find your ideal fit.

M&S Lace Trim Padded Strapless Bra

  • High quality fabric

  • Choice of white, black or nude

What we don't like

  • Expensive

What Mumsnet users say

“I do like their range so perfect.” - Brand recommended by Mumsnet user Theos

Our verdict

This bra has good wiring for support, which is ideal for your bridal look. The seamless cups ensure it won’t show through even the most delicate of materials and the bottom lace trim is a really romantic touch.

It comes in black, nude or white so there’s a good choice to suit your dress. Plus, the sizing range is inclusive so it can cater for smaller to larger busts.

The only downside is the high price. However, for your bridal bra it may just be worth the splurge.

Why does your strapless bra fall down?

More often than not, the reason is because you're wearing the wrong size. This isn't always as noticeable when you have straps to take some of the support but with strapless, you need all the help you can get. A large band is going to be lacking in support and a tight band can cause the bra to ride up. If you struggle to find your size, look online for an accurate bra measurement guide. Alternatively, Next, M&S and John Lewis offer professional measuring services at selected stores.

What’s the best material for a strapless bra?

Most strapless bras are made from a combination of polyester and polyamide, with elastane. Strapless bras with silicone dots or bands provide some additional grip.

What’s the best strapless bra to buy?

Our Mumsnet users praised the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless Everyday Bra. Mumsnetters say it's fantastic for comfort and support and is also a winner for larger busts.
