Whether you're after a budget buy or a fancy multitasker, here are the best air fryer ovens according to Mumsnet users.
By Ellis Cochrane | Last updated Aug 19, 2025
We’re all probably familiar with air fryers at this point, but if you’re not, they essentially cook using hot air, giving you the same crispy and tasty results as you might expect from deep frying. However, air fryers require little to no oil, making it a healthier, quicker and less expensive alternative to other frying methods. In fact, many Mumsnet users have abandoned their ovens in favour of the handy cooking device.
Much like the best air fryers, the best air fryer ovens can cut down on cooking times and energy bills when compared with a traditional built-in oven. Plus, they give you the opportunity to bake, grill, roast, toast, air fry and more, all in one device, saving you from cluttering your kitchen countertop with even more appliances.
If you’ve been searching for the best air fryer oven, but still don’t know which one might be the best fit for you and your household, we’ve rounded up the top options based on a wide array of customer reviews and expert guidance, as well as tried-and-tested recommendations from real Mumsnet users. Their honest feedback, based on several years of using air fryer ovens of all shapes and sizes, has helped us curate this list of the top models currently available, so you can feel assured that you’re making the right purchase thanks to impartial endorsements from the UK's biggest online network of parents.

What Mumsnet users say
When we considered recommendations from Mumsnet users and assessed the thousands of five-star online reviews, it was easy to see why many view this as the best air fryer oven rotisserie at the moment. Not only does it have three racks/shelves, allowing you to cook different dishes or the ingredients of a recipe all at once, but the spacious 3.2L mesh rotisserie basket really makes it stand out from the crowd, especially if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make chips.
Chips often require a different temperature to other ingredients, so when you cook everything together in the oven, they can easily become overcooked or a bit soggy. But being able to dedicate a space to solely preparing perfectly cooked chips certainly helps, with the 360° air circulation and rotisserie basket providing crispy and evenly cooked chips every time. The same can be said for roasted meats.
As you might expect from a rotisserie air fryer oven, it fits an entire chicken, with the rotisserie spit and handling fork allowing you to dish up without too much hassle at all. Many have also applauded its dehydration function, which will enable you to dehydrate fruits and make your own jerky at home. Plus, it's easy to clean, with a number of dishwasher-safe parts. And because of its simple control panel, it’s ready to use straight out of the box, without you having to pore over an instructional manual several times beforehand.
If you happen to be a bit of a novice in the kitchen or simply want to press a button and let your air fryer oven do all the work for you, the single-button presets for chicken, veggies, steak and chips have each been set to the ideal temperatures and cooking times. With these no doubt being the go-to and most used settings for many, this is really handy.

Even though the Breville option above is great value for money when on sale, the Tower T17076 Xpress Pro is also another excellent choice. With over 15,000 five-star reviews on Amazon alone, many shoppers have praised how user-friendly and intuitive it is, with accurate cooking times and an impressive number of preset functions which eliminate any guesswork.
For many, the rotisserie function will be a highlight, and for good reason. Cooking an entire chicken in around 40 minutes – which is, on average, 20 minutes less than a conventional oven – this will surely cut down the time it takes to make your Sunday roast, while resulting in an even, delicious cook.
While it may seem relatively pricey at its full RRP, what really makes this a great budget air fryer oven is the number of useful accessories it comes with. From three air flow racks, a wire rack and an oil drip tray, to a reversible grill plate, ten skewers, a rotisserie fork and handle and heat-proof silicone finger mitts, the added value of these quality items on their own make it well worth the investment. What's more, you can often snap it up in the sales for less than £100, so keep your eyes peeled for offers.
Tower also has a 5-in-1 version of this air fryer oven, which is even more affordable (yours for just £59), if you don’t need quite as many functions and features, or are on more of a budget.

Best small air fryer oven
Compact size

Has a handy free recipe app
Could be a bit too small for larger families or gatherings
Can only fit a smaller chicken, unlike some of the others
Key specs
Price on writing: £89 (RRP £220) | Capacity: 11L | Dimensions: 37 x 32.3 x 32.5cm | Power: 2000W
What Mumsnet users say
Currently priced at under £100, not only is the Tefal Easy Fry one of the best mini ovens on the market, but it’s also one of the most budget friendly. However, don’t let its small size deceive you. There’s more than enough space for at least six portions without it taking up too much space on your countertop.
The sizeable viewing window means that there’s no need to open the air fryer oven, like you might a traditional basket air fryer, keeping the heat in and not disrupting the cooking process. A simple touchscreen and digital display also allow you to input precise timings and temperatures for reliable results each and every time.
With nine cooking modes, it can tackle everything from reheating leftovers to baking cakes and grilling steaks, making it a real multi-tasker. And if you’re struggling for ideas when it comes to what to cook next or want to expand your repertoire, we’re big fans of the brand’s free recipe app. So, that should take some of the pressure off of what to cook next and give you plenty of inspiration.
We also love the included accessories, which make cooking and whipping up meals all the more easier. There’s a dedicated french fries basket, two racks to maximise what you can cook at once, a handy drip tray to keep mess at bay, a fetch rack, grill plate and a chicken fork. So, you truly do get a lot of bang for your buck with this air fryer oven.

Best large air fryer oven
Extra large capacity
No need to preheat
Frequently on sale (there’s currently almost £50 off)
Has a large footprint/takes up quite a chunk of countertop space
Heavy, so not possible to move around easily
Key specs
Price on writing: £152 (RRP £200) | Capacity: 24L | Dimensions: 37.5 x 41.4 x 37.5cm | Power: 1800W
What Mumsnet users say
Coming in as the best air fryer oven for a large family or those looking to batch cook for the week ahead, the HYSapientia 24L Air Fryer Oven is a highly recommended model. And given its size, we can easily see why many shoppers have left their built-in oven on the back burner, if you pardon the pun. With the space to cook everything from a 10-inch pizza to almost a kilogram of french fries and an entire chicken, it makes use of a powerful high speed fan to cook food evenly, with it heating up quickly, too.
Promising to take half the time of a conventional oven, and in turn saving you half the energy, another big bonus is that you don’t need to preheat it like you would a traditional oven or even other air fryers. It’s ready to use immediately, perfect for putting dinner on with no fuss or heating up snacks for the whole family to enjoy.
Easy to clean thanks to its glass door and stainless steel materials, it also comes with a vast number of handy accessories to set you up for success in the kitchen. There’s the typical air fryer basket and racks that you might expect, as well as a rotisserie attachment and oven glove. And for those of us who don’t want to be glued to our phones or tablets, it even comes with a physical manual and air fryer cookbook to offer up lots of ideas.
As you might expect, one negative is it does have a rather large footprint due to its size, so you will need to have space for it in your kitchen. It’s not the kind of air fryer oven that can be stowed or stashed away when it’s not in use either because of its hefty 11kg weight.

Best 3 in-1 microwave air fryer convection oven
Easy to use
10 air fryer auto-cook presets
Extra-large capacity
Could be more costly than buying a separate air fryer and microwave
Key specs
Price on writing: £179 (RRP £249) | Capacity: 26L | Dimensions: 52.3 x 44.9 x 30cm | Power: 900W microwave/1500W air fryer
What Mumsnet users say
If you don’t happen to have the kitchen countertop space to comfortably house a microwave and an air fryer, Salter’s DuoWave combines the benefits of both, as well as a convection oven, allowing you to reheat, defrost, roast, bake and air fry all in one sleek and stylish appliance.
Saving you money in the long run, with it using 61% less energy compared to a traditional oven – or 90% when using the microwave function – it’s not too surprising that it’s one of our best air fryer microwave combo picks. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, it also comes with a crisper tray, baking pan and interior turnable, allowing you to whip up a wide variety of dishes and recipes as soon as you open the box and plug it in.
Regardless of whether you’re looking to plate up crispy chips, potatoes or vegetables, the extra large 26L capacity can even house a whole roast chicken, and its top down heating element results in even and crisp cooking each time. You can also easily reheat and defrost, as you would with a traditional microwave. However, one of our favourite features has to be the keep-warm function, which keeps your meal at the perfect temperature until you’re ready to dish it up. This certainly comes in handy when the kids are finishing up their homework or someone is running late.

Most stylish air fryer oven
Compact and aesthetically pleasing design
Heats up quickly
Replaces the need for a separate toaster, as well as an oven and air fryer
The analogue controls don’t offer the best accuracy
Accessories are not dishwasher safe
Key specs
Price on writing: £195 | Capacity: 12L | Dimensions: 29.5 x 26.9 x 29.2cm | Power: 1400W
You might have spotted Our Place’s viral cookware as you’ve scrolled through social media, but they also have their very own air fryer oven – the Wonder Oven. Combining the benefits of an air fryer and a countertop oven, it’s a fantastically dinky device, making it ideal for smaller spaces. We’re also big fans of the four aesthetically pleasing colours that it comes in, with it offering something a bit different to a traditional black or stainless steel design. Let’s just say, it’s the kind of appliance that you’ll be proud to display, instead of wanting to hide away out of sight when it’s not in use.
Preheating in around two minutes, it’s excellent for quick meals or when you don’t want to wait too long for it to heat up, with the ability to air fry, grill, toast, bake, roast and reheat. Plus, its steam infusion technology locks in moisture, preventing anything from drying out.
With the ability to cook on multiple levels, or remove the interior wire rack to fit a whole chicken, we also love the addition of the non-stick ceramic-coated bake pan, mesh air fryer basket and crumb tray to set you up for success, whether you’re just starting out in the kitchen or are looking to take your cooking to the next level.
If you are used to being able to input exact timings – for example two and a half minutes – because Our Place’s has analogue dials, it’s not quite as accurate as the digital alternatives. You also aren’t able to pop the accompanying cooking accessories in the dishwasher, which might not be ideal for some. But, if you’re on the lookout for the most stylish option on the market at the moment, look no further than what is easily one of the best countertop air fryer ovens.
How do air fryer ovens work?
“Air fryer ovens work by rapidly circulating hot air around food using convection technology,” explains AO’s small appliance expert Isabella Forgione. “This method, often referred to as rapid air technology, creates a crispy outer layer similar to deep frying but with significantly less oil.”
However, there are a few different iterations of air fryers and air fryer ovens, with some being more suitable than others, depending on your needs, the size of your family and what you’re looking to cook.

How do air fryer ovens differ from other types of air fryers?
According to Isabella, “The main differences between a countertop air fryer and an air fryer oven are their sizes and cooking capabilities.” Most of us are familiar with countertop basket air fryers, which are compact and designed specifically for air frying. “An air fryer oven is larger, resembling a microwave in size. It not only offers an air fry option but also includes traditional cooking and baking functions,” Isabella continues.
Air fryer ovens typically have a larger capacity and come with racks instead of baskets, which in turn provides more internal cooking space. Plus, many air fryer ovens have glass doors, allowing you to monitor your food without having to open the unit. In contrast, traditional air fryers and basket models require you to pull out the drawer to check on the cooking progress.
Some traditional air fryers, like the Ninja Foodi, do offer multiple settings, allowing you to air fry, bake, reheat, crisp, roast and dehydrate. However, in general, air fryer ovens tend to have a wider array of multi-functional settings.
What should I look for when buying an air fryer oven?
There are a number of key features to consider when you’re choosing an air fryer oven:
Size and capacity – First and foremost, you’ll want to think about how many people you’ll be cooking for, as well as how much available space you have on your kitchen countertop. Smaller models will suit couples better, while larger air fryer ovens can cook entire meals for up to eight or more people.
Budget – Price-wise, air fryer ovens start from around £50 to 60 and can cost up to around £400, depending on the size and specifications.
Settings – From baking and toasting, to reheating, grilling and air frying, you’ll want to look out for an air fryer oven that does what you need it to, in terms of the meals and recipes that you prepare on a regular basis. These pre-programmed settings also take a lot of the guesswork out of cooking, making them ideal for any capability.
Digital control panel and timer – Many air fryer ovens come with digital functionality, allowing you to input exact cooking times, as well as utilising a handy timer function. Some others have manual dials which can make it a bit trickier to read or input exact timings.
Ease of cleaning - When it comes to making life easier, especially if you’re short on time, most air fryer ovens have dishwasher-safe parts. But you may need to use a soft brush or non-scratch sponge scourer on certain components.
