Butlin’s vs boring: why families are booking ahead this Christmas

£1 deposits, early booking savings and all the fun included. Finally, a UK break that doesn’t rely on the weather.

Not all UK holidays are created equal. Some involve sideways rain, long afternoons and the familiar cry of ‘what can we do now?’ Others start cheap, then quietly add another few hundred pounds once you’ve paid for activities. It’s enough to make anyone wonder if staying home might be easier.

This is where Butlin’s makes a convincing case. Instead of hoping the weather behaves or budgeting for extras, everything’s built around keeping everyone entertained, all day and well into the evening. Shows, fairground rides, soft play, pools, kids’ clubs and big-name entertainment are all included in the price. No sunshine required. No awkward conversations about what you’re not doing because it costs extra.

And there’s a decent incentive to get organised early. From Christmas Day until 15 January, Butlin’s early booking offer is live, with £1 deposits and savings of up to 25% on February half term and Easter breaks. There’s also an extra 10% off all-inclusive drinks packages until 18 January, which will be welcome news to anyone who’s ever priced those up later.

If your idea of a break involves swapping boredom for proper, planned fun, this is one worth a look. Especially while the early booking offers are still on.
