Best TUI Blue family hotels in Spain: top resorts for your next holiday with the kids

Completely renovated in 2019, TUI Blue Aura is a popular choice for families with young children. Just a few minutes’ walk from the shallow waters, sheltered coves and soft sands of the beautiful Port des Torrent beach, it’s the perfect base for those first tentative paddles in the sea. There’s a convenient boardwalk leading down to the shore, so even heading down to the beach with a buggy in tow is relatively simple and fuss-free. 

In addition to the large outdoor family pool, indoor pool, shaded children’s pool and splash park, guests can use the waterpark - with tube slides and rapids - next door for free. 

While the Aura’s buffet restaurant and its dedicated area just for kids caters well for fussy eaters, the a la carte Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant with live cooking stations makes a great alternative for those who fancy being a little more adventurous during their stay. 

Guests speak highly of the TUI Blue kids’ clubs at Aura, which run six days a week and are split into distinct age groups with tailored activities led by dedicated activity hosts. Younger children can expect regular appearances from TUI Blue mascot Captain T Dog, while teens will enjoy the more relaxed socialising at The Hangout.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel that has all the benefits of a TUI Blue resort without the hefty price tag, Flamingo Beach is one of the more affordable Spanish TUI Blue resorts. A short 35-minute transfer from the airport, TUI Blue Flamingo Beach is located on the sandy bay at Playa Flamingo, just a short walk from Marina Rubicon and Playa Blanca. You can even catch a ferry to nearby Fuerteventura should you wish to explore more of the Canary Islands during your stay. 

With plenty of loungers and parasols for soaking up the almost guaranteed sun, you can switch between the large family pool, activity pool or the more relaxed pool depending on your mood. Children will love the shade of the dedicated children's pool, as well as the brightly coloured splash park with a waterfall palm tree and fun tipping bucket.

There are four restaurants, with the main buffet restaurant offering regional, Mediterranean and international dishes as well as a children’s menu. For true Canarian cuisine, guests can enjoy one all-inclusive visit to the a la carte Taverna or tuck into fresh fish, meat and grilled delights directly on the beach at the Green & Grill El Duque. 

With kids' clubs six days a week and an impressive entertainment programme including live early evening shows, younger children will love the kids' parties, mini-disco and character meet and greets.

On the bay of Cala Tarida on Ibiza’s west coast, TUI Blue Tarida Beach offers a peaceful setting for families while also being just a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of San Antonio and San Jose. 

If you love soaking up the sun and spending time in the pool, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Tarida Beach. In addition to the indoor pool and adults-only pool for calm swim sessions, you’ll also find a spacious family pool, children's area with slides and an entire pool reserved for activities, so there's no need to navigate around the water aerobics while trying to cool off from the late afternoon sun. For the ultimate luxury, Tarida Beach even has a small number of swim-up rooms - ideal if you want to ‘splash out’.

It’s not all about swimming. You’ll also find two outdoor playgrounds where children can burn off some energy before bed, as well as access to tennis, archery and football at the nearby ‘Retreat’ centre just a five-minute walk from the hotel. The fine golden sand of Cala Tarida beach is also nearby - with shallow water perfect for paddling with younger children.  

The kids’ clubs at Tarida Beach (for children aged 3-12 years) focus on arts, crafts and team games and you’ll find a variety of live shows in the evenings from the talented TUI entertainment team. 

Mealtimes are a real family affair, with the main buffet restaurant offering a children’s buffet, live cooking stations and fun themed nights. You also get access to three a la carte restaurants during your stay, with a choice of Mediterranean, Italian and international cuisine. There is only one complimentary a la carte visit included in your all-inclusive package, however, and some recent guests experienced long queues at the main buffet restaurant.

Located in Cala Bona on Mallorca’s northeast coast, it boasts well-maintained grounds dotted with beautiful palm trees and spacious lawns where children will love to run around and play. We love the covered outdoor terrace at the main buffet restaurant, allowing you to make the most of epic coastal views while the kids tuck into familiar dishes from the children’s buffet.

Younger children will love the resort’s small water park, with its brightly coloured whale and crocodile slides, while the shaded baby pool means even the youngest guests can have a paddle, protected from the midday sun. 

While the hotel does have direct access to the sea via a jetty, this is only recommended for confident swimmers. If you prefer the reassurance of shallow waters (or your children simply want to build a sandcastle), you’re better off heading to the local beach Cala Millor, a 10 -minute bus ride away.

The TUI Blue kids’ clubs run six days a week and are a great place for your children to make new friends while you head to the on-site spa. There’s also plenty of day and night entertainment from the TUI entertainment team including the BlueFIt for Families sessions, which are sure to get the whole family up on their feet. Little ones will love the mini disco each evening, with the chance to meet the loveable TUI mascots Barnse and Captain T.

Set right on the seafront of the stunning Blueflag Playa de Muro, Mallorca’s largest sandy beach, Alcudia Pins offers some pretty epic views across the sun-soaked coast of Alcudia Bay.

Based near the delightful Cala’n Bosch Bay, TUI Blue Turquesa Mar boasts a great central location, just 500m from the sandy Son Xoriguer Beach and a short stroll from the beautiful marina with a host of bars, restaurants and shops. As well as having a bus stop directly outside the hotel for trips to the historic town of Ciutadella, Turequesa Mar is ideal for families who want a lively hub to explore in the evenings 

There are three large outdoor pools including a family pool and large pool divided into quiet and activity zones. Younger children will love the fun kids' splash zone with water fountains, tipping buckets and slides.

While there are fewer restaurants at Turquesa Mar than at some of the TUI Blue hotels, you can choose from the main buffet restaurant serving international local and family favourites or the a la carte Taverna for traditional Spanish and Menorcan cuisine.

There’s plenty at this resort to keep children entertained too. From the multi-sports courts and playground to the kids’ clubs with structured activities for children aged 3-11. Even teens can make new friends at The Hangout and enjoy some independence during their stay. If you’re travelling with young children, there’s nothing worse than a tedious transfer when you touch down at your destination. If you’re looking for the convenience of a short transfer time, the TUI BLUE Orquídea could be the ideal choice as it’s just a 25-minute drive from the airport. 

One of three TUI BLUE For Families hotels in the small and quaint resort of Bahia Feliz, the hotel is sandwiched between TUI BLUE Las Pitas and TUI BLUE Playa Feliz and with the option to use the facilities at all three, you’ll have plenty of choice when planning how to spend your days with the kids. 

There are three restaurants to choose from including the all-inclusive buffet and a choice of two a la carte restaurants. The Taverna provides local Spanish cuisine or you can enjoy a shared tapas experience at the speciality restaurant El Sultan.

Children will love the central splash park and family pool, while early risers can enjoy some lane swimming in peace at the start of a busy day. It’s worth noting that the beachfront location is sand and shingle, so if you’re seeking softer golden sands, you may prefer to take the short trip to nearby Playa del Inglés.

With luxury surroundings, perfect for chilling and playing games around the pool, families can choose to take a splash in the main family pool or be more energetic in the activity pool. Younger guests will have a whale of a time with the hippo and turtle jets in the children’s pool. 

For dining, you really are spoilt for choice and it’s particularly good if you’re vegan, vegetarian or have specific dietary requirements. From grilled meats and vegetables at the Italian trattoria to more fiery Indian cuisine, you’re sure to find something to suit everyone’s taste buds, including children’s menus featuring familiar dishes like pizza and pasta.
